5 Ways to Have Better Sleep

Sleep is so important to good physical and mental health.

We know this, however, how many of you actually do it in this busy world we live in?

The following 5 Suggestions may help:

*1) Remove Distractions*: Put your mobile phones and laptops away. These
devices make it incredibly tempting to start scrolling aimlessly through
social media and the internet, or even worse, starting to watch a series.
It's sort of a habit of we have nowadays to turn to our devices when we
feel that we have nothing to do. Instead, take the moments before you sleep
to reflect upon your day, as you eventually doze off.

*2) Avoid Light*: Another reason why having electronic devices around you
may be detrimental to your sleep. Try to create a sleeping environment that
is as dark as possible. Have some blinders if there is light outside. Cover
devices that emit light, even those with blinking LEDs. Not only does this
help you sleep better, it also enables you to wake up easier once the sun
is up.

*3)* *Have a Sleep Routine*: Try to get to bed and wake up at the same
timing every day. Even on weekends or off days, it doesn't do your
biological clock good to sleep in. The same goes to sleeping earlier than
you need to. This might cause you to wake up in the middle of the night,
ruining your sleep cycle as well. Get your body used to the timings when
you rest. While it does take some organizing to get things done in time so
you can sleep, it's all better for your health in the long run.

*4) Avoid Heavy Meals Before Bedtime*: While it is very tempting to doze
off after a huge meal, it's not very beneficial to your sleep health. Not
only does it affect your metabolism, it is also bad for digestion, which
may cause unwanted trips to the toilet in the middle of the night. A light
snack however, may aid in sleeping for some people. Try to have dinner at
least 1 to 2 hours before bedtime.

*5) Don't Bring Work to Bed*: While some may have the habit of checking
emails or using the laptop in bed, you should only use the bed for sleeping
and sex. Even during the daytime, avoid doing any other thing on your bed.
You want your body to associate this space with rest, instead of work.

Hope you have a good night :-)  ZZZZZZZZZZ
